What are Cookies:
Cookies are text files. They record information that you have submitted to Web sites such as your username. They do not search your hard drive or do they ruin any of your files. When I visit Amazon.com, I am shown items I might like to buy, because I have a Amazon.com cookie on my hard drive. The cookie acknowledges who I am. This allows you to buy stuff online too. If you have your cookies turned off while buying from an e-commerce store, you may not be able to access the shopping cart.
