This step may require 2 hands.  The interesting thing is that Dell did not use a screw to hold the cover in place and relied on clips for the cover to remain in place.  You must be careful not to break the clips on the side of the memory cover.  First you will note that the cover has some ridges where you can use your finger to slide the cover off.  You might have to raise the cover just slightly with your other hand in order for the cover to slide smoothly. 

You might have to use 2 hands to get the cover to move smoothly in order to be removed from the memory bay of the Dell Latitude CP series Used laptop

You only need to slide the cover about 3/4 of an inch before you can just lift if off the memory bay.  If ever in doubt about this process please refer to the Dell Latitude CP/CPi User Manual.
