Laptop PC Modem Card

Another name for the laptop pc modem card is a PCMCIA Modem.  We carry these cards.  There are 2 different types of these modem cards.  A type III card and a Type I/II card.  The main difference in these cards is that the Type III card requires 2 PCMCIA slots.  So if your laptop only have a single slot this card will be no good for you because it would be too thick.  However if the card will fit your laptop these cards are nice since the jack to plug in your phone cord is built into the side of the card.  Here is an example:

The Type I/II cards came 2 different ways.  Either they included a dongle or were XJack modems.  Here is a page on our site all about the XJack Modems.  The dongled modems were simple modems that had a special cable to plug into the card and the other end to go to your phone jack.  These were problematic if you were to loose that cable.
