They might call it "rugged," but how does the Dell Latitude E6400 XFR stand up to the Panasonic Toughbook CF-30? In independent lab testing, The CF-30 bested the Dell in battery life, extreme temperature tests, static pressure tests, and drop tests. Ouch.

In every test besides the battery test, the Dell E6400 XFR suffered hard drive failure, which is pretty devastating. Aside from data loss, that'll cost you in time and money spent shipping the unit and having it repaired, which could put the computer out of service for days or even weeks.

Of course, we didn't need an independent lab to tell us that the supposedly "rugged" Dell doesn't stand up to the competition. Our years of experience have shown us that the Panasonic Toughbook line of rugged laptops is the industry standard for a reason: they can handle abuse.
