New Rugged Laptops

About Durabooks

While Durabook might be less of a household name than Panasonic or Dell, don’t be fooled- they still hold their own. Durabook (formerly known as Gammatech Computer Corporation) has been manufacturing consumer-grade laptop computers since the late 1980’s, and with 35+ total years in electronics manufacturing, they are a top competitor of Panasonic and Dell. Durabook began manufacturing military-grade laptops in 2000- and they haven’t stopped expanding their rugged line of computers since. Drawing from their many years of expertise, Durabook consistently creates some of the highest quality rugged computers in the industry. These computers are tough, yet versatile, making them a perfect fit for professionals in utility and field service, automotive, healthcare, and government industries.

Rugged Laptops vs. Consumer Laptops

Trying to compare rugged laptops to consumer-grade laptops is akin to comparing apples to oranges- they’re just that different. While these Durabooks are brand new, these are still not the laptops you use if you’re an avid gamer, and If you’re looking for a dainty little laptop, this isn’t it. These laptops are built to get the job done- they’re made to go with you to the jobsite, the great outdoors, or anywhere else where you need a computer that stands up to the elements. Rugged Durabooks have been tested to ensure they meet exclusive Military Standards and Ingress Protection ratings for rugged ability, such as MIL-STD-810G, IP5X and higher. This means that they are made to withstand vibration, shock, sand, dust, rain, extreme temperatures, and more. In fact, Durabook has even taken it one step further by certifying their laptops with additional items such as explosive atmosphere, solar radiation, salt fog, and fungus resistance. That’s pretty tough.
