About Getac Laptops
For over a quarter of a century, Getac has been a leading manufacturer of rugged mobile computers, predating even the venerable Panasonic Toughbook brand by several years. Formed in 1989 as a partnership between GE Aerospace and Taiwanese electronics giant MiTAC, the first Getac computers were purpose built to meet the needs of the defense industry. Today, that military-grade legacy continues with rugged devices built for use across a wide range of industries, including public safety, manufacturing, transportation and field services.
Rugged Build
First and foremost, Getac laptops are designed to be tough. They aren’t cheap, but that’s because they are the result of uncompromising R&D and engineering. New Getac laptops come standard with the best manufacturer’s warranty in the industry, even covering accidental damage (most manufacturer warranties only cover defects, and additional coverage for accidental damage can be very expensive). All fully- and ultra-rugged Getac notebook computers include either a 3- or 5-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, depending on the model. Coverage is comprehensive and repairs are performed by Getac technicians using only authentic OEM replacement parts.
