    • Comparing The Dell 7220 to the Getac F110

    Welcome to this week's edition of the Rugged Rundown! Today, Bob’s comparing two popular rugged tablets: the Dell Latitude 7220 and the Getac F110.

    Size and Build

    Both tablets are the same size and share a similar footprint. The Dell Latitude 7220 is slightly heavier and a bit thicker than the Getac F110, but the difference isn’t dramatic.

    Battery Swapping

    One standout feature of the Dell is its dual hot-swappable batteries. You can easily remove and replace each battery one at a time, ensuring continuous power without shutting down. The Getac F110 also supports hot-swapping, but the process is a bit less convenient—you’ll need to remove the battery cover before accessing the two internal batteries. It can be done, but it’s not quite as quick as the Dell.

    Ports and Buttons

    The Getac F110 comes with an RJ45 jack built in, making it easy to connect to wired networks. Both tablets feature programmable buttons, but the Dell has three programmable buttons, while the Getac F110 only has one, alongside two volume controls. The Dell also offers dedicated buttons for brightness and screen orientation, letting you quickly switch between landscape and portrait modes.

    Webcams

    Both devices include webcams, but the Dell Latitude 7220 features a privacy cover—a feature the Getac F110 lacks.

    Available Ports

    The Getac F110 has both a USB and a USB-C port, along with the aforementioned RJ45 jack. The Dell Latitude 7220 also offers USB and USB-C, but if you need an RJ45 jack, you’ll have to add an optional module. Both tablets come with a microphone jack, headphone jack, and a rear camera.

    Which Rugged Tablet is Better: 7220 or F110?

    These are the primary differences between the Dell Latitude 7220 and the Getac F110 rugged tablets. Both are excellent choices, but the right one for you will depend on your specific needs—whether it’s hot-swappable batteries, built-in ports, or programmable buttons.
