Build a field workstation around the equipment you need to connect. The Durabook Z14I combines fully rugged construction with a 14-inch touchscreen, a fanless thermal design, and expansion options for specialized connections, graphics, and storage.
At Bob Johnson’s Computer Stuff, Inc., we offer new Z14I configurations for diagnostics, utilities, public safety, engineering, and other equipment-intensive work. Start with your applications and interfaces, then choose the hardware that supports them.
The current Z14I platform provides two Ethernet connections, two serial connections, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, USB-A connections, HDMI, and VGA. It also includes ExpressCard 54 and a smart card reader.
That range of interfaces makes the Z14I worth considering when your work involves multiple devices or a combination of modern and legacy equipment. Confirm the exact configuration against your required cables, interfaces, and software.
If you need a particular serial interface mode, docking arrangement, or specialized connector, share the equipment details before ordering. We can help check the configuration and any additional hardware required.
The Z14I supports optional expansion hardware for more specialized applications. Durabook documents choices including:
These are configuration possibilities, not equipment automatically included with every laptop. Some expansion choices are mutually exclusive and require confirmation with the manufacturer.
Tell us what your application needs to do rather than selecting an expansion box by name alone. We can help check compatible hardware, power requirements, availability, and pricing.
The Z14I offers removable storage and additional storage configurations, but the media bay requires a choice between an optical drive, a second battery, or a third SSD.
Decide whether extra runtime, optical media, or additional storage matters most to your workflow. Do not assume all three media-bay options can be installed together.
The platform also offers an optional bridge battery for supported main-battery changes. Confirm the required setup and follow Durabook’s replacement procedure and swap-time limit.
Durabook specifies a 14-inch Full HD display with a 1920 × 1080 resolution, brightness up to 1,200 nits, and DynaVue technology to improve outdoor viewing.
The capacitive touchscreen provides selectable input modes for finger/water, glove, and stylus use. Confirm compatible accessories and the appropriate settings for the way you work.
If your software requires a particular screen resolution, pen capability, or external display arrangement, include that requirement when discussing your configuration.
The Z14I uses Durabook’s Coolfinity fanless thermal design. Current manufacturer specifications include IP66 protection, MIL-STD-810H environmental testing, MIL-STD-461G testing, and six-foot drop testing.
IP66 describes dust-tight protection and resistance to powerful water jets under specified test conditions. It does not establish protection against immersion or submersion.
Durabook lists an operating temperature range of -20°F to 145°F (-29°C to 63°C). Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the complete configuration, accessories, port covers, and permitted exposure.
Hazardous-location approval is a separate configuration consideration. If your workplace requires it, confirm the exact certification before purchasing; general ruggedness and environmental testing are not sufficient.
The current Z14I platform uses Intel Core Ultra processors and DDR5 memory, with manufacturer-listed memory configurations up to 64GB. Compare your application requirements with the selected processor, memory, and storage.
Optional dedicated graphics, GPS, cellular connectivity, and additional security hardware depend on the configuration. A feature available for the platform is not necessarily installed in every laptop.
Durabook lists a three-year Accidental Damage Warranty for the current Z14I. Coverage includes specific component periods, repair limits, and exclusions, so review the terms supplied with your listing or quote.
Plan for a typical lead time of approximately 6–8 weeks, depending on configuration and provider availability. Contact us before ordering if you need a particular setup or have a deployment deadline.

No. Durabook identifies these as alternative uses of the media bay, with one option selected.
Consider whether additional runtime, optical media, or more storage is your priority. Contact us if you need help checking a complete storage and battery configuration.
No. Expansion boxes and dedicated graphics are optional configuration choices, not equipment automatically included with every Z14I.
Some choices cannot be combined. Share your application and hardware requirements before ordering so we can help confirm a compatible configuration.
Do not assume it is safe to submerge. The current Z14I carries an IP66 rating, describing dust-tight protection and resistance to powerful water jets under specified test conditions.
IP66 does not establish protection against immersion. Follow Durabook’s instructions for port covers, seals, cleaning, and permitted exposure.
Durabook lists a three-year Accidental Damage Warranty for the current Z14I, subject to the manufacturer’s terms and exclusions.
Not every component has the same coverage period. The published policy gives consumables, including batteries and styluses, one year of coverage and the operating system image 90 days.
Accidental-damage repairs for the LCD, drive, motherboard, and keyboard are subject to annual repair or replacement limits. Review Durabook’s complete policy and confirm the coverage supplied with your order.
